We Ask God for Wisdom
We started today's lesson with a treasure hunt to find out what our lesson and the series for the next four weeks is about. The kids followed clues around the room to find the answer which was wisdom. Proverbs 2:1-4 says, "My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures."
Then the kids were each asked one question - "If you could have anything - anything in the world. What would you ask for?" We had answers like money, a baseball field, two heads, a car, Jesus, God, and love. The answers that were material things faded away (with the help of disappearing ink) and the answers that included Jesus, God, and love remained. We learned that material things won't last forever but the most important things we could ask for are things of God. Wisdom from God never fades away; it lasts forever.
We watched the story of Solomon and how God gave him a dream in which He told Solomon to ask for whatever he wanted and He would give it to him. Solomon said he felt like a little child who didn't know his way around, ruling so many people, so he asked God for an understanding heart so he could rule over God's people well and to know the difference between right and wrong. Simply put, he asked God for wisdom. God was pleased with what Solomon asked Him for and so he gave him wisdom along with riches and honor.
The best source of wisdom always has and always will be God. He loves us so much that He wants to give that wisdom to us. All we need to do is ask!
Memory Verse: For the Lord grants wisdom. Proverbs 2:6a
The toddler class, Tweeters, will be starting a new lesson next week on creation called, "God Made Me" and will continue it throughout the month with interactive play to effectively teach them.
Please make every effort to have your kids at Kingdom Victory Church next week. It will be our last time to practice the songs they are doing for Father's Day. We are honored to partner with you in teaching your child the Word of God!

This is awesome. Teachings like these are hug turning points for this generation and the one to come. I'm excited to hear the kids start tracking and correctoring others =)
